Methane digesters move forward on California dairy farms

Article Abstract:

An organic creamery is the most recent installer of an anaerobic digestion system to generate power from manure and wastewater, saving 6,000 dollars per month in electricity costs. This is one more step toward the goal of having a farm and becoming completely self-sufficient in energy with minimal environmental impact.

Energy Harvest is not a research initiative, but it is about deployment of innovative technologies in the market-place that creates jobs and thereby enables economic developments. The Keystone state's department of environmental protection puts more emphasis on creating greater economic development.

Producing electricity from methane in IOWA

Article Abstract:

Metro waste authority (MWA's) metro methane recovery facility is the first in the state of Iowa to directly produce electricity from landfill gas. MWA is a quasi- govermental agency providing an inegrated waste management system to more than 17 communities in Central Iowa.
