Burning Desire: Yankee Candle founder Michael Kittredge built his cellar fro wax and wicks

Article Abstract:

Michael Kittredge, residing in Amherst, Mass, and founder of 'Yankee Candle Company' is one of the largest manufacturers of scented candles in the country, producing more than 70 fragrances from 'French vanilla' to 'vineyard'. Kittredge, who has a collection of twelve thousand bottles of a Bordeaux-heavy wine and three wine cellars, with a fourth one under construction, gets greatest joy in presenting friends with their birthday vintages.

Virginia collector arrested for selling bottle from own cellar

Article Abstract:

Wine collector Mark Phillips' home was raided when he attempted to sell part of his wine collection to another collector. The Virginia Department of Alcohol Beverage Control saw an ad Phillips posted on his Web site, and then posed as buyers. Phillips was charged with selling an alcoholic beverage without a license. If convicted, he may be subject to a maximum penalty of 1 year in jail and a $2500 fine.
