French timber 'crossroads' takes a different path

Article Abstract:

The 1996 Carrefour International du Bois in Nantes, France focused on wood products instead of machinery, and included workshops featuring discussions on global timber markets, personnel management, and other issues. The timber trade show doubled in size from its 1994 convention, with approximately 10% of the exhibitors having come from outside of France. Maintaining regional niches while adapting to a global mindset was a major theme of the convention. France is among the largest producers of timber-related products, including furniture, in Europe.
