Dental office planning

Article Abstract:

A dentist who is also a registered architect gives tips on how to plan a dental office. This is the biggest investment dentists can make in their practice so it is worth spending some time on it. It begins with a written description of how you intend to practice dentistry. This includes the functions you and your staff intend to perform and where you will perform them. Architects call this the design program. Once you have created this program, you are ready to begin planning the actual design of the office.

Design for treatment

Article Abstract:

A dentist who is also a registered architect gives tips on designing the treatment rooms in a dental office. The best-designed treatment rooms are those designed around the dentist, patient, and staff, rather than just the dentist. The room should be designed as efficiently as possible. Rooms should ideally have two entrances/exits if possible and patients should be facing away from the corridor. The utility wall can be used to deliver many devices such as headlights, air-abrasion units, and curing systems.

Interior design for dentistry

Article Abstract:

An interior designer and a dentist who is also a registered architect give tips on designing the interior of dental offices. The design should be functional as well as aesthetic. Proper attention must be paid to color, lighting, finishes, furnishings, art, and accessories. The color scheme should be a balance between warm and cool shades, as well as light and dark tones. It may be helpful to place yourself in your patients' shoes when deciding on color schemes, furniture and accessories such as artwork.
