Curing restorative resin: a significant controversy

Article Abstract:

Faster curing lights can significantly decrease the amount of time spent filling cavities and do not seem to have many adverse effects. Curing lights are used to harden dental fillings.

The need for caries-preventive restorative materials

Article Abstract:

There are several restorative materials that release fluoride, including hybrid ionomers, compomers, conventional glass ionomers, high-strength glass ionomers, and resin-based composites with fluoride added. These materials could help prevent cavities.

Restorative dentistry for pediatric teeth: state of the art 2001

Article Abstract:

Dentists should probably avoid using amalgam in children's teeth in favor of compomers, hybrid ionomers, and resin-based composites. Hybrid ionomers are probably best for children with many cavities.

i dunt think amalgam should be avoided in class 1 cavity since we dun have reliable sources that prove the toxicity of amalgam..moreover amalgam is quite strong when comparing to resins!
