Special AIDS threat to women

Article Abstract:

Women are especially vulnerable to HIV infection because of several factors. However, social attitudes toward infected women should be changed and a more positive environment should be promoted. In addition, nongovernmental organizations should be more involved in AIDS prevention and care.

Women and water

Article Abstract:

Women are traditionally responsible for providing the rural family's water supply in Botswana. Often, the water is carried a considerable distance from standpipes, and contamination is a problem. Women themselves must take a greater policy role in water hygiene issues.
