Effectiveness of performance management systems: an empirical study in Indian companies

Article Abstract:

The effectiveness of the performance management systems (PMS) in selected Indian companies is examined. Factors influencing the effectiveness of the PMS and its alignment with organization goals were focused on. Managers having good academic backgrounds with high profiles are found to be effective implementers of the system.

Economic marginalism and the microstate, the impact of donor conditionality requirements in international aid programmes on a SHRM training project in the Cook Islands

Article Abstract:

A university-based training programme for public service managers in the Cook Islands in which the government introduced real decision-making procedures into a virtual exercise is discussed. Questions are raised about the extent to which an academic exercise became a functional element of cabinet decision-making.
