Article Abstract:

The Court of Appeal ruling relating to comparison of pay scales in two parallel government departments is discussed. EAT's ruling in Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council v. Degnan, which is due for hearing in Court of Appeal in April 2005 is also discussed. The Court of Appeal's ruling in R v. Headteacher and Governors of Denbigh High related to freedom of religion is examined. The ruling of European Court of Justice in Wippel v. Peek & Cloppenburg GmbH & Co KG related to part-time worker's claim based on Part-time Workers Directive is presented. Other cases and rulings relating to Disability Discrimination Act and Racial Discrimination are also discussed.
