Article Abstract:
Singapore is successfully facing the current Asian economic crisis despite it being the smallest land area in the region. This stability may be attributed to the nation's highly skilled workforce and comprehensive infrastructure programs being implemented by the Singaporean government to uplift its economy. The government has always encouraged direct foreign investment to the country through lenient regulations and various financial reforms to boost its fund management industry. Singapore remains the regional dollar market hub in Asia with total assets of US$506.9 billion for 1996.

Article Abstract:
Economic growth in Hong Kong is expected to exceed 6% in 1995. This will be fueled by the ongoing recovery from economic recession of the US and Europe, as well as by double-digit economic growth for the past several years in mainland China. However, China's economy may be in danger of collapse because of high inflation and growing domestic debt. This will have grave consequences for Hong Kong's economy. Slowdown in the US and European economic recovery due to rising interest rates in the US will also have a negative impact on Hong Kong's economy.

Article Abstract:
The Swiss Confederation has been in existence for 700 years, characterized by the close interdependence of various cultures and languages, such as German, French, Italian and Romansh. Consisting of 26 cantons, Switzerland runs on regional autonomy where federalism plays an important cultural and political role. Since 1674, the country has become internationally neutral, making it ideal for global groups and political negotiations. Although its 1995 economy underperformed based on expectations, economists foresee an upward economic trend in 1996.
