Article Abstract:

People-Trak, manufactured by California-based Technical Difference, is a PC-based human resource information system for organizations with strength of around 10-10000 employees as it provides a unique combination of modules- Applicant Tracking, Personnel Management, COBRA Administration, and Training Administration. People-Trak comes to the HR aid by providing automation tools for the entire employee life cycle and it has been successfully used by Iowa State University Foundation and Boston Culinary Group.

Why does knowledge management still matter?

Knowledge Management (KM) is a process that aims to help a company gain competitive advantage by taking high value amount of data and organizing it so that the right stakeholder has access to the information immediately. If companies value knowledge as a core competency, part of their genetic code, then knowledge management becomes an essential factor for their survival and success.

Virtual communities at caterpillar foster knowledge sharing

A small, grassroots initiative at Caterpillar evolved into a successful, enterprise-wide process with projected savings of US $75 million. One of the elements that has helped the Knowledge Networks succeed is its delegated management approach rather than a centrally controlled system.
