Article Abstract:

The Joint Health and Safety Executive/Department for Transport (HSE/DfT) guidance on Work-related Road Safety suggests that competent people in organization take a risk assessment led approach to manage drivers, vehicle and the journeys they undertake. Risk assessment and the programs cover the driver competence, training, health, vehicle condition, suitability, information, ergonomics, journey planning, routing, scheduling, timing and distances.

New rail safety law set to overhaul accident investigation

Article Abstract:

The new rail accident investigation body s well as a safety law would be introduced to investigate the railway accidents. The bill introduces the primary legislation necessary to enable regulations to be made to require payment of a railway safety levy and implements the new Convention on International Carriage by Rail (COTIF) into UK law.

EU transport safety policy - time to decide

The main focus of European Union's (EU) overall transport policies is the strict enforcement of international laws and standards on safety with increasing transparency. The impact of these policies on maritime, air, rail, and road transport are discussed.
