Miramax has acquired the US rights to BBC children's drama, The Phoenix and the Carpet, from Hit Entertainment, a UK producer/distributor. The series will be aired in the US in the form of a 90-minute TV-movie version of the film that was aired on BBC1 in 1997 as a 6x30-minute series. The Phoenix and the Carpet is only one of the 10 TV series sold by Hit Entertainment in the US. The other films include Happy Life's Big Sister, Little Brother, and Wildlife and Monsters from Hahn Films, which were acquired by Fox Family Channel.
