Characterizing discharges

Article Abstract:

The process of characterizing every discharge after a Marine has completed 180 days of service removes the sweet taste of success at the completion of one's contract. However, making change in processing non-expiration of active service (EAS) separations will speed and simplify the process and will reduce the cost of processing associated with producing witnesses on characterization.

Why a two-track promotion system?

Article Abstract:

The two-track promotion system is backward and does not help the Marine Corps in training, leading and staffing at the period of battle. The Marine Corps must keep the master sergeant and master gunnery sergeant ranks as the primary ranks to which all E-8/9s should be promoted.
