Herculean struggle: Coast Guard likes the C-130J, despite aircraft's iffy future

Article Abstract:

The U.S. Coast Guards are not encountering any problems with the new C-130J Hercules and they are performing well in a limited testing capacity. The planes do not have any problems with airframes, hardware or software, but as the Coast Guard HC-130Js are not equipped with the command-and-control and search-and-rescue communications equipment the service needs, they cannot be tested to their maximum potential.
