Jordan plots out MAP route for personnel carrier acquisition

Article Abstract:

The Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) announced in March 2006 that a contract is 'under final discussion' between JAF and the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) for supply of a first batch of KADDB's new Multi-purpose Armored Platform (MAP). A number of variants, sufficient for one armored infantry battalion, including armored infantry carriers, support weapons platforms, and command-control vehicles will be sourced under this contract.

Long shot: Swedish Armed Forces select Archer system for networked fire support

Article Abstract:

The Swedish Army has chosen its Artillery System 08 or Archer, an end-to-end tube artillery system that is fully networkable, in conformity with the defense ministry's emerging network-based defense (NBD) concept, to support the Nordic battlegroup from 2011. The system includes a long-range 155 mm self-propelled howitzer and an associated resupply vehicle, conventional ammunition plus command-and-control (C2) equipment.

France sets sights on 2008 delivery of new IM high-explosive projectile

Article Abstract:

The first consignment of the 5,000-round tranche manufactured by Nexter is scheduled for delivery to the French Army in February 2008. This is an enhanced version of the insensitive 155 mm high-explosive artillery projectile, LU211 IM (Insensitive Munition).
