RNZN narrows down on dockyard management

Article Abstract:

The Royal New Zealand Navy has emphasized that it has no interest in discussing the project of managing HMNZ Dockyard with ADI Ltd. and Air New Zealand Ltd., but if the discussions with the two most eligible dockyard managers fails only then will the ADI and Air New Zealand Ltd. be considered. The New Zealand defense force and the New Zealand ministry of defense (MoD) will have the authority to access the dockyard's abilities as per the agreement, inspite of the actual contract being between the RNZN and the dockyard manger.

Romania keeps NATO membership in sight

Article Abstract:

Romanian leadership is convinced that to have the membership of NATO it will have to first restructure its army and navy forces. This restructuring of the navy is mainly towards the three main aspects operational, administrative and technical branches and through this modification process it has to transform a conscript navy into a totally professional one.

Swooping to conquer

Article Abstract:

The US Navy (USN) has decided to procure new Multi-mission Maritime Aircraft (MMA) based on Boeing's 737 airliners, thereby, upsetting Lockheed Martin's 60-year dominance of USN maritime patrol missions. The rationale for the MMA selection decision and the main features and functions of the newly configured P-8A MMA are discussed.
