Radar ESM faces up to the littoral challenge

Article Abstract:

The current development activities and the new developing technical solutions related to the field of Radar-band electronic support measures (RESM) systems are assessed that are optimized for operations in complex pulse-dense, near-land environments. The RESMs are capable of imparting the command with the essential information on the electronic order of the battle, contains the exact details and information of capability of contacts and can detect and identify a threat over the horizon.

The Israel Navy has made an important contribution in safeguarding the country's maritime borders and offshore security interests and also, the Israel Navy has developed into a modestly sized but strong, jointly focused and increasingly networked focused unit. The Israel navy has accepted new ideas and technologies to ensure its qualitative edge in spite of shortage of funds and manpower.

Getting to know the neighborhood

Commander-in-Chief Fleet Admiral Jonathan Bond gives his views on why the UK Royal Navy must continue to operate and train in distant theaters in order to make a significant contribution to global maritime security. He states that as their operations are information-led, they would need to know their neighborhood properly in order to spot the signs when something is problematic.
