ST Engineering: an emerging world class player in the international defense market

Article Abstract:

Tan Pheng Hock, COO of Singapore Technologies Engineering, the company designs and develops ships, vehicles and weapons using state-of-the-art technology. Hock said the company also has a significant aerospace business in terms of large-scale maintenance of commercial and military aircraft. Some of its products include the BIONIX Infantry Fighting Vehicle, the SAR-21 small arms, the ATTC All-Terrain Tracked Carrier and the FLYER light strike vehicle.

Lieutenant General Hans-Rudolf Fehrlin, who leads the Swiss Air Force in launching a substantial modernization effort, discusses about his views and plans for the future. The effort involves the procurement of both combat and training assets, after which the Swiss Air Force would have state-of-the-materiel, which is firmly rooted in the traditional militia system.
