Services wrestle with the challenges of UAV intelligence interoperability

Article Abstract:

The Shadow, Dragon Eye and Global Hawk in Iraq have proved the contribution of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the war as they can feed data simultaneously to multiple users through a network available to all services. However, its interoperability is a major challenge facing the US military in its use of UAVs because of the volume of different technical requirement for them.

As missile-defense system deploys, some eye directed-energy options

Article Abstract:

The US military services are deploying the first elements of a planned multilayered defense scheme intended to protect the United States, some allied and forces on the battlefield from missile attack. The three phases in the flight path of the hostile missile that are attuned to various layers of the defensive network are presented.
