Tensions rise on the Eritrean-Ethiopian border

Article Abstract:

Tensions along the border reflects increasing frustrations over the lack of progress in the Eritrea-Ethiopia peace process and the failure to implement the April 2002 decision of the Eritrea-Ethiopia Boundary Commission (EEBC) on demarcating the border between the two states. Ethiopia rejected key elements of the decision, while Eritrea became increasingly vocal in its denunciations of the UN mission.

East Timor pressures Australia to rethink maritime boundaries

East Timor is emphasizing to wean its economy away from aid dependence and undertake real sustained development to secure a greater share of seabed resources of the Timor Sea. Australia has to ensure East Timor's viability, security and political stability to protect its won interests.
