Terrex uncloaks its theory of 8x8 evolution

Article Abstract:

The evolution of the Singapore Technologies Kinetics' Terrex 8x8-armoured carrier vehicle, which provides the customer with the best-value solution, is described. The construction of the first Terrex prototype (AV81) and the second prototype (AV82) differs in detail, but the basic Terrex structure consists of a monologue hull fabricated of Swedish Steel Armox high-hardness steel plates and has a modular roof design intended to facilitate vehicle configuration changes in the theatre of operation.

Thales hopes to keep ships in the picture with its naval sensor suite

Article Abstract:

Thales in 2006 is developing an integrated naval above-water sensor suite aimed at frigate and corvette-sized patrol ships, as well as larger amphibious and fleet-support vessels that are expected to operate in littoral waters with a high probability of asymmetric threats. The Integrated Sensor Suite (ISS), described as innovative is being developed at the Hengelo, the Netherlands, facility of Thales Nederland.

DCN launches new family of Galaxi-based combat systems

DCN Combat Management Systems has launched a new family of combat management system solutions that is based on a new, open systems framework architecture known as Galaxi. The new architecture Galaxi acts as a component model by providing a common set of technologies, languages, patterns and practices, and it is based on information technology industry standards including Corba, DLRL, SNMP and HLA.
