US moves out on remote mines and sensors

Article Abstract:

The US Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center has awarded a US $53.8million contract to develop Spider, a hand-emplaced man-in-the-loop munitions system, to ATK and Textron Systems. The basis of Spider is its munitions control unit (MCU), a pedestal, which embodies a communications module linked to the six lethal or non-lethal munitions that it supports.

More F-15s proposed for USAF, but interest still shown in STOVL JSF

Article Abstract:

Boeing is planning to sell more F-15E fighters to the US Air Force (USAF) so that it can extend the production line of the F/A-22 Raptor at the expense of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF). The USAF's switch to the short take-off, vertical-landing (STOVL) or STOL version of JSF might reduce the number of aircraft it can afford.
