US steps up counterterrorism training in Sahel

Article Abstract:

The United States is setting-up a rapid-reaction force to train regional troops regarding counter terrorism in Africa, as it is becoming a safe-haven for the terrorist groups to recruit and raise funds. The threats posed by the Islamist extremists in African region and the counter measures taken to prevent them are discussed.

Khan case raises fears of further proliferation

Article Abstract:

The concerns over Doctor Abdul Qadeer Khan's private nuclear proliferation network, the possibility of other smuggling rings and clients are discussed. The US intelligence agencies knowledge about Khan's nuclear activities and dealings are still under question.

Third Iranian Shahab test 'a fizzle.'(ballistic missile)

Article Abstract:

The September 2000 testing of the Iranian Shahab-3 ballistic missile was judged to be a failure, according to intelligence sources. In addition to Iran's missile efforts, the US isconcerned about the country's nuclear program.
