Apple tries to regroup just in time for Macworld Expo

Article Abstract:

The Macworld Expo could be the venue for announcing new product developments from Apple Computer. Apple CEO Steven Jobs is expected to announce a new laptop code named Mercury, faster Power Mac models and the Mac OS X, the latest Macintosh operating system with rotating graphics and translucent drop-down menus. Industry analysts say that Apple better announce something dramatic at MacWorld as it had a lackluster year in 2000. Apple will report a loss of $225 to $250 million for 4th qtr 2000, its first money-losing quarter since Jobs took helm of the company.
