Article Abstract:

This article discusses the hypothesis on the role of dopamine in the treatment of schizophrenia. Recent findings indicate that the hypothesis is not unequivocal and antipsychotic drugs possessing D2-receptor and alpha(sub)2-adrenoceptor blocking activity provide better clinical efficacy.

Endocannabinoids and multiple sclerosis: a blessing from the 'inner bliss'?

This article discusses the role of endocannabinoids in the treatment of neurological disorders. Results indicate that the endogenous and exogenous delta(sup)9 tetrahydrocannabinol compounds reduce spasticity and tremors associated with multiple sclerosis.

Anandamide and the question of its functional role for activation of capsaicin receptors

Article Abstract:

This article discusses the activation mechanism of vanilloid VR1 capsaicin receptors on afferent neurons by anandamide. Results suggest that anandamide released from the peripheral tissues may be enough to activate a set of receptors.
