War of the Wor(l)ds

Article Abstract:

The works of such artists as Jenny Holzer, Mark Kostabi, and Barbara Kruger pose the question of whether there is a difference between graphic design and fine art. Both artists and designers aims to be revolutionary and to look for material outside their field. Does graphic art become art when it mimics tradition or is hung in a museum or sells well at auction? Interaction between the two genres offers the best results.
