Essex appeal

Article Abstract:

A campaign to encourage businesses to move into Essex, England, has been initiated by the local authorities, to counter the sometimes negative view of the area. The scheme is led by the Essex Investment Office who have also published a periodical about business life in the 14 districts that make up county. Essex has good availability of workers, cheap land and low rents. Some new development work has already been planned, such as two business areas at Chelmsford and improvements to the A13 road, which will cost 146 million pounds sterling.
