City settlement

Article Abstract:

Residential property is becoming an increasingly significant feature of the centre of Bristol, England. Beaufort homes has made a planning application for 122 new homes at the Harbourside scheme, where a mixed-used development by British Land and Crest Nicholson will also include 37,160 sq mt of residential units. There has been a rise in demand for larger apartments in the city centre, especially as traffic congestion boosts journey times from the suburbs. Attractive leisure facilities are also encouraging people to consider living in the city centre.

Fields in boom

Article Abstract:

The retail market and the development of industrial land in Leatherhead, Surrey, England, has been slow. In contrast the demand for office space is growing with some speculative building developments in progress. Office rents in Leatherhead have been as high as 23 pounds sterling per sq ft. Companies are looking at Leatherhead for office buildings, partly due to its location near junction 9 of the M25 motorway and due to other, more popular, towns in the area restricting further office development.
