Investment funds give thumbs up to property

Article Abstract:

Investment funds invested 224 million pounds sterling in property in the UK in the first half of 1996, compared with only 12 million pounds sterling in the year-earlier period. The sector has been boosted by fund managers, especially those responsible for pension funds, looking to re-position themselves in anticipation of rising tenant demand and rental levels. Net investment by pension funds has risen from 11 million pounds sterling to 43 million pounds sterling.

Analysts give thumbs-up to smaller property firms

Article Abstract:

Large property companies are likely to see difficulties on the stock market over the next few years, but smaller companies will enjoy strong performance. A recent report indicates that the property stocks with the most potential will be those of Chelsfield, Argent, Frogmore, Burford and Pillar. These will perform well because their size makes it possible for entrepreneurs to add a lot to net asset value.
