Builders who pull down walls

Article Abstract:

Women's Education in Building (WEB) is the biggest training centre for women in construction work in Europe, training about 70 women a year in west London. The Union of Construction, Allied Trades and Technicians (Ucatt) has 200,000 members, but only about 1% of them are women. There is sexual harassment on building sites so the women prefer to be self-employed. Ucatt believes tradesmen's prejudices would change if more women worked on site.
