Get 'em in their underwear

Article Abstract:

Smaller microprocessors offer the ability to place advertising in the hands of the user; in a variety of handheld devices, that is. Web-based appliances will offer the ability to shop online for almost all goods and services. Refrigerators will automatically order milk when the container is empty, users will be able to call their home network to turn on the air conditioner or the coffee pot before they arrive after a hard day's work. Handheld devices will offer videoconferencing and Web connections. Advertising will target individuals according to personal data garnered through the use of the Web.

A life in two acts

Article Abstract:

Playwright Roy MacGregor was a gentle man, but this was not reflected in his first play, 'Our Own Kind,' which deals with council estate racism. His life was clearly divided into two sections. In the first, he was unable to get in touch with his talent, and was extremely restless. He became very unhappy, and drank so much alcohol that he nearly died. In the second section, he was encouraged by therapists and counsellors to begin writing, and this filled the gap in his life.
