Like Butlins for the intelligentsia

Article Abstract:

Warwick University in Coventry, England, offers very inexpensive self-catering holiday accommodation during student vacation periods. Visitors to the campus will find a wide range of very interesting buildings dating from all periods since the university first started to be built in the 1960s. The university is a very useful base from which to explore the extremely attractive local countryside. It is particularly worth visiting medieval Kenilworth castle.

Why do you think they're called 'operators'?

Article Abstract:

Tour operators are apparently making attempts to meet the needs of customers more closely, offering 'free' or greatly reduced child places and packages for single-parent families. However, holidaymakers should be aware that these promises often fail to live up to the reality. Brochures fail to show the poverty which is common in many destinations, and holiday prices are often increased to account for 'free' extras.

Forty-five seconds in the life of an astronerd

Article Abstract:

Many people are willing to travel great distances to witness a total eclipse of the sun. Most recently, India attracted considerable numbers of 'astro-tourists,' and extensive plans were made to ensure that as many as possible could witness the eclipse from the best possible spot. Such trips can be very expensive, but real fans believe that it is worthwhile.
