Tales of men's shirts

Article Abstract:

The best shirts in the world are to be obtained in London, England, where there are a number of extremely well known shirtmakers based around Jermyn Street. However, it is also possible to obtain good quality shirts in high street shops. Marks and Spencer, for example, has a large range of traditional shirts at only 32.50 pounds sterling, while C and A is to offer non-iron shirts in high quality superfine cotton from Mar 1997 at 20 pounds sterling. At the other end of the scale, it is possible to have a tailor-made cotton poplin shirt from New and Lingwood for 125 pounds sterling.

Brand new heavy

Article Abstract:

It proved difficult to encourage manufacturers of designer label clothing to try a new type of retail outlet, according to businessman Daniel Green. However, his two Brand Centres, where many different designer labels are stocked in a single large outlet, are now proving very successful. The outlets are situated in rather unattractive locations, but offer convenient shopping away from the crowds of traditional retail centres. They have a number of unusual features, including a men's creche area.

Flamboyant? Paul Smith?

Article Abstract:

Fashion designers have a responsibility to ensure that fashion does not become bland, according to designer Paul Smith. His new mainline collection for spring and summer 1998, 'Aristocrat Delux,' is flamboyant in style, and the fact that these clothes will not appeal to everyone does not concern him. He recognizes that the fashion industry is becoming increasingly international in nature, but he also wants to remain a pioneer of fashion creativity.
