Designing better managers

Article Abstract:

This article examines paucity of managers in corporations and the role of designers in filling that void by functioning as project managers both at the technical and business levels. Attributes such as finacial management, budgeting, productivity supervision, time management, communication ability, and team building identify an effective manager.

This article describes the design and construction plan of the National Museum of the American Indian and how the archetectural details eloquently express the Native American story. The museum appears as a series of natural cliffs rising from a natural landscape and incorporates a central dome and a dramatic roof cantilever.
