How a goldfish keeps its nerve

Article Abstract:

Some animals are able to repair damaged tissue, but this is not possible in humans because the ability to learn has replaced the areas of the brain which control regeneration of cells, according to researchers at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. It is possible that scientists will eventually be able to develop antibodies to block growth inhibitors. However, it will be many years before it will be possible to effectively treat spinal injury victims.
