Research relevance: communication is key

Article Abstract:

Direct communication and cooperation between academics and practitioners of civil engineering are vital for the discipline to ensure benefits to the public and the nation. The mutual cooperation facilitates quick and easy application of research to practice. Appreciation for research flows out of peoples' awareness of a direct relation between the research and the advantages accruing to them. Such a desirable relationship augurs well for specific research on the infrastructural problems.
