Association between functional status and use and effectiveness of beta-blocker prophylaxis in elderly survivors of acute myocardial infarction

Article Abstract:

The strong association between the functional impairment and the use of beta-blockers after acute myocardial infarction in the elderly patients are studied. The survival benefits are observed in the patients, who are using beta-blockers, with and without functional impairments.

Hydroxymethylglutaryl-CoA reductase inhibitors in older persons with acute myocardial infarction: evidence for an age-statin interaction

The results of clinical investigations for identifying the relationship between hydroxymethylglutaryl-CoA reductate inhibitors (statins) and patient outcomes in elderly persons with acute myocardial infarction are discussed.
