Healthcare utilization and costs in managed care patients with Alzheimer's disease during the last few years of life

Article Abstract:

Research indicates that Alzheimer's disease patients do not generate higher healthcare costs than do patients with other forms of dementia, or similarly aged persons without dementia. Data were obtained from medical records of subjects with a mean age of 85, during the last three years of life.

Subjective memory deterioration and future dementia in people aged 65 and older

Article Abstract:

A study in order to find out whether subjective memory deterioration is associated with future dementia in older people is conducted. Subjective memory deterioration was found to precede the development of dementia in older people with normal cognitive screening results.
