Interrelations of age, health, and speed

Article Abstract:

Examination of adults aged between 18 and 87 years for the correlation between speed, age and health, through latent construct structural modeling, reveals that health does not totally mediate the relationship between age and speed. The self-rated health measures, in addition to the direct-age effects, cause age to indirectly affect speed. An increase in age leads to a reduction in sensory-motor-perception, reaction time speed and self-rated health.

Young adults' relations with grandparents following recent parental divorce

Article Abstract:

Parental divorce has no influence on the relationship between adult grandchildren and grandparents, as adult grandchildren are more independent to facilitate such relationship. The chances of adult grandchildren from divorced parents starting contacts with their grandparents are, however higher than those from intact families. The likelihood of adult grandchildren contacting their paternal grandparents without their father's knowledge is higher.

The relationship between depression and cognition in older adults: a cross validation study

Article Abstract:

Multiple regression analysis helps determine the relationship between depression and cognition in validated and cross-validated groups of geriatric medical patients. Scores from the Geriatric Depression Scale help predict the values of the Dementia Rating Scale and Logical Memory. This study eliminates the limitations due to small sizes of the samples and due to consideration of depression as a dichotomous variable.
