Why would caregivers not want to treat their relative's Alzheimer's disease?

Article Abstract:

The willingness of family caregivers of patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD), to use AD-slowing medicines is investigated along with the relationship between this willingness, dementia severity and caregiver characteristics. Results indicate that caregivers are willing to slow the progression of their relative's dementia even into the severe stage of the disease.
