Occupational sex segregation and the earnings of occupations: What causes the link among college-educated workers?

Article Abstract:

The relationship between occupational segregation and earning gaps among students of gender inequality at the early stages of their careers is identified to understand the occupational characteristics associated with both remuneration of work and sorting of gender identity. It is observed that occupational segregation and earning gaps among students of gender inequality is 11-17% in high paying occupations and 41% in relatively lucrative occupational placement.

Does bad pay cause occupations to feminize, does feminization reduce pay, and how can we tell with longitudinal data?

Article Abstract:

The data from 1983-2001 current population surveys were used to examine whether change in sex composition leads to change in pay or vice versa. Results conclude that inertial relationship between highly female occupations and low wages affects the gender equality.

Descriptive dimensions of U.S. occupations with data from the O*NET

Article Abstract:

An explanatory factor analysis of the Occupation Information Network or O*NET identifying four factors is discussed. These four factors and O*NET variables can be linked to social studies via occupation codes and used as up to date assessment of work environment.
