Sex happens after 50, and so do sexually transmitted diseases

Article Abstract:

People aged 50 and over account for more than 10% of total AIDS cases in the US according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). HIV rates amongst people in their 60s and 70s are also increasing. According to Senior HIV Intervention Program (SHIP) coordinator John Gargotta, prevention is the key, and Broward County's program depends on trained volunteers, each in their 50s, to educate their peers.

Sexually transmitted diseases in the United States

Article Abstract:

Key facts relating to sexually transmitted diseases in the US are presented. Around 3 million people become infected with chlamydia each year, with around 2 million people currently being infected. There were 360,076 reported cases of gonorrhea in 1999.
