Attentional focus, dispositional reinvestment, and skilled motor performance under pressure

Article Abstract:

Attentitional processes governing skilled motor behavior were examined using two studies. In two experiments field hockey player performed a dribbling task under single-task, dual-task, and skill-focused conditions while skilled soccer players performed a dribbling task under single-task, skill focused, and process-goal conditions under low and high pressure situations.

The effects of anxiety on motor performance: A test of the conscious processing hypothesis

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine the conscious processing hypothesis as an explanation of the anxiety or performance relationship. The results support an attentional-based interpretation of anxiety effects on motor performance, offering little support for the conscious processing hypothesis.

The development of a measure of psychological responses to injury

Article Abstract:

The initial development of a theoretically derived measure to evaluate the psychological responses of injured athletes is described in two studies. Factor analysis offers some support for the factorial and constructs validity of the Psychological Responses to Sport Injury Inventory (PRSII).
