Cruise line operators are concentrating on providing high quality food service to customers give them the competitive edge and assert their status. Passengers are faced with alternatives of dining and entertainment, and shipowners should become particular with their galley arrangements in order to stress their uniqueness. A major factor that should be considered is choosing the right galley design that depends on the ship's size and capacity. The three major companies specializing on galley design and installation are Hackman Metos Marine, Electrolux, and Seaking.

Elation provides test for Azipods
Article Abstract:
Carnival Cruise Lines Inc's new ship Elation is the first cruise ship to be fitted with Azipod propulsion units and the ship has set a trend for future ships with its new propulsion system. The major benefit of the Azipods for the ship include reduced machinery space requirements and weights savings. The Azipods require a different approach for maneuvering the ship, however. The ship is designed to go astern by reversing the thrust in the Azipods or by rotating them 180 degrees.
