Petition heats up tax issue
Article Abstract:
A petition to circumvent Internet taxation that was spearheaded by Los Angeles, CA-based Aesop Marketing Corp CEO Mark Joyner appears to be gaining momentum, with 18,122 signatures collected since its release early in Jul 1999. Joyner stressed that Internet taxation is a very real and imminent possibility and it is up to the Internet community to ensure that it does not take place. Many online merchants are resistant to the idea of Internet commerce taxation because it will dampen consumer interest and slow the development of electronic commerce.
