Julius Brinkmann: 1912-1998

Meteorologist Julius Brinkmann was born on Jul 3, 1912 in Bonn, Germany. He studied mathematics, meteorology, astronomy and chemistry at the University of Bonn. Known for his sense of humor and cigar smoking, Brinkmann started his career in meteorology at the Weatherservice of the US Zone. His hobbies include listening to classical music and attending concerts and opera performances. He died at the age of 86 in Frankfurt, Germany on Jan 14, 1998.

J. Robert (Bob) Stinson: 1921-1997
Article Abstract:
J. Robert Stinson was a prominent figure in meteorology and other fields of geophysics. He acquired a bachelors degree in mathematics and physical and social sciences, a masters in meteorology and a doctorate in geophysics. After leaving the academe in 1962, Stinson, entered government service with stints at the Argonne National Laboratory and the Navy Weather Research Facility. He died on Oct 12, 1997 at the age of 76.
