Afghanistan's transition: ISAF's stabilization role?
Article Abstract:
The International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) deployed in Afghanistan has played a critical role in the country's transition and without its security and peace-stabilizing contributions, Afghanistan would not be able to move on a path of stabilization and reconstruction. ISAF could serve as a good model for future peacekeeping and reconstruction in other parts of the world although it is a force which came into existence and developed very much in response to the peculiarities of Afghanistan.
