Heidelberger Zement of Germany is acquiring a 26% stake in the trade subsidiary of Gmundner Zement within a capital increase. The funds injected by the German group will be spent on investments in Gmundner Zement. Rohrdorfer Zementwerke , a subsidiary of Heidelberger Zement, already holds a 26% stake in Gmundner Zement, while Fritz Hatschek is the main shareholder .

AUSTRIA: HEIDELBERGER BUYS INTO EBENSEER

Article Abstract:

Through a subsidiary, German Heidelberger Zement is acquiring 50% of the stock of the troubled Austrian concrete producer Ebenseer Betonwerke with effect from 1 January 2001. Leitl-Werke Bauhutte is selling a 40% stake and Hans Rieder 10%-points of his 60% stake. At seven locations, Ebenseer Betonwerke generates a combined annual turnover of about Sch 600mn.

AUSTRIA: CONSTRUCTION FIRM GOES BANKRUPT

Article Abstract:

Eiblmayr, a construction company and maker of pre-fab concrete elements , has filed for bankruptcy. The company with 210 staff has liabilities of Sch 192.9mn and assets of Sch 40.5mn. The latest balance sheet stated a loss of Sch 41mn. Eiblmayr was taken over by the holding company of the Kaindl family a year ago.
