Pharmaceutical exports, that were the biggest export article last year, report a 36% increase in the June-August period vs. June-August last year. Meat exports climbed 37% in the period. The only industry that showed a decline in the June-August period was the furniture industry with the decline being 11%.

DENMARK: DANISH EXPORTS TO THE ENERGY SECTOR UP 34%

Article Abstract:

The Danish exports of know-how and equipment to the energy sector have reported a 34% increase to DKr22bn (US$2.5mn) in the past two years. It is the wind-power industry that leads the way for this development whereas the exports to the district heating, power and heating plants, oil and natural gas sectors reported a 30% drop in the 1998-2000 period. The growth is driven by the enormous growth in the global wind energy sector - a sector where Danish producers are the global leaders. These figures indicate that there is a strong demand for Danish energy solutions, says environment and energy minister Svend Auken.
