Golden age dawning for customer service?

Article Abstract:

Customer service has emerged as marketing's top priority in the decade of the 1990s. Businesses that have adopted the core business philosophy of giving the customer what he wants have apparently reaped the rewards. The case of Nucor Corp, which has customer service for its corporate goal, is cited. The company's revenue rose 18-fold to $1.5 billion from only $89.3 million in 1972, an increase which is mainly attributed to improved customer service.
